The WOWC Annual Motorcycle Run
Eight years ago, a group of like minded friends put forth a great effort to clean up and remodel our residential and meeting facilities at WOWC. Their efforts brightened up our space and brought the buildings up to city codes. However, our facility is still very old and we often found our facility busting at our seams due to a great need in the Houston area for a place for women to safely detox from alcohol. Seeing the great need and dreaming of the great possibilities, the Board members of the WOWC took a leap of faith. Provided with the gift of a donated motorcycle and the hard work and dedication of a generous group of folks, the WOWC Motorcycle committee was formed. Our first event was very well received and very successful. The monies from that event were then donated to the WOWC.

2023 winner Daniel Cano
The WOWC Board of Trustees then established a Building Fund with the ultimate long-term goal of constructing a new, modern facility that will accommodate a larger number of women seeking that first step on a long-term path to recovery. All of the proceeds generated by the Motorcycle Run events go into that Building Fund and are earmarked for the purpose of fulfilling the vision of a new facility.
With seven successful Bike Runs under our belt, and over $350,000 raised for the building fund, we are actively planning for the eighth and future events. We are grateful for the generosity and support of the local biker community and look forward to riding with you again to support this great cause, as well as so many others that we all collectively enjoy supporting throughout the year.
Over the last five decades, thousands of women have taken the first steps on their journey of recovery at The Way Out Women’s Center, and thanks to the support of people like you, we pray that thousands more will have the opportunity to start a new life, free from the bondage of alcoholism!
